FEED THE CROW

Many of us would be aware of the common practice in our homes wherein a handful of rice is placed in the backyard for the crows to take before we take a meal.
It is believed that the crow represents our forefathers and by offering rice to the crow we are offering to them. Elders would often say ” Feed a crow before you eat.Offer your leftovers to the dog after your meal” why do they say so? Because the crow is fed first, does it mean it is superior to other beings? No! that is not the reason why it has been kept like that. If you have noticed crows taking food, even if you offer a handful of rice to one, it would call all the others and share it with them. On the other hand, try feeding a pack of dogs. The strongest one would chase away all the weaklings and eat all by itself. The crow is fed first to inculcate this goodness within us before we sit for a meal.
