WITNESS FOR RAMAYANA

The great Tamil poet Kambar who penned the Kamba Ramayana in Tamil, first rendered the epic in Srirangam Temple. Why so?

Lord Sri Ranganatha was the family deity (kula devata) of Raghu Vamsa and hence was the witness of all that happened in the life of Lord Rama and every other king of the Raghu Vamsa. It is only in the intention of verifying the correctness of Kambar’s Ramayana that he recited it first at the Srirangam temple!
