By the boundless grace of our Guru Maharaj, around 25 devotees gathered for Janmashtami celebrations at our Wellington Namadwaar in Maungaraki. The celebrations started at 6.30 pm with Mahamantra kirtan, followed by the recitation of chapters 1 – 3 of the 10th Canto from Shrimad Bhagavatham to relive Krishna Jananam.
Following Krishna’s Jananam, we celebrated Nandotsav with enthusiastic kolattam where children and adults danced around our little Krishna (our own Venkatakrishnan) singing Madhurageetham.
This was followed by a grand cake cutting ceremony, where little Shiv, cut a multi-layered ‘butter rich’ cake to the tune of Mahamantra kirtan. The memorable event came to a conclusion at 9.00 pm with the sharing of the Mahaprasad so lovingly prepared by all the devotees for Krishna.
